A feature that is needed, but no one is talking about it.
What am I trying to solve?
I mostly have two interactions on the song page when listening to music on Spotify.
- Like the song (Favourite).
- Add it to existing playlists.
Having a direct button to add the song to the playlist on the song page will be a great experience. However, I have to take a couple of steps to do the same with the current layout.

Why?
Compared with the proposed prototype above, the multi-click process has an unnecessary funnel for users to add the song to their playlists. The new layout shortens the user’s path to add music to the playlist and improves interaction efficiency.
How to determine success?
- Increase in “Add to Playlist” rate from the song detail page (Playback UI).
- More stream time without switching from the song detail page (Playback UI).
- User satisfaction.
